Answers In The Dark: Grief, Sleep and How Dreams Can Help You Heal

by Delphi Ellis.

Welcome

Hello! On this website you’ll find information about my book Answers In The Dark and insights on different types of dreams. I firmly believe the best person to decide what their dream means is the dreamer, that’s why my book isn’t a dream dictionary but instead offers tips on how to decode your own dreams. (If you’d still like to explore a dream you’re having click here).

Answers In The Dark

My book looks at the relationship between sleep, dreams and our mental health, specifically how grief shows up, even if no one has died. It explores some of the big myths of sleep, offers a Sleep Cycle Repair Kit and tips on how to decode your own dreams.

“A must read!”

I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2016, resulting in a significant increase in my dreams and nightmares. Whilst I received therapy to live with my PTSD, understanding my dreams and interpreting them has always been a mystery. This book has unlocked those questions, I am grateful for the support and answers they have given me. The Sleep Cycle Repair Kit offers practical help. A must read. Thank you!

“A life changer!”

Delphi literally goes under the covers and shares her vast experience and knowledge about the reasons why many of us struggle to get a peaceful and rejuvenating night’s sleep. In my opinion this is the best book you will ever read about sleep, you will learn so much and will look forward to bedtime once again. .

“Delphi really is a special and healing force”

A wonderful read filled with insight, kindness and compassion. Getting good sleep is one of the key ways to improve your well-being and this book helps with that but so much more along the way.

“A helpful read!”

Delphi helps us to look at sleep from a different perspective and we all want a more restful night. I’ve already used some of the insights to get a better night’s sleep and as someone with insomnia I thought I had heard all the best ones already.

Dreaming of Water

Dream question: Why do I dream I can’t swim in deep water? When we talk about dreams it helps to think in metaphor. “Deep water” could imply that someone is “out of their depth”, (eg feels like they don’t know enough) or feeling like they’re about to get into trouble. It doesn’t mean it’s going…

Dream Question: Why am I dreaming about insects (especially during the pandemic)?

As we are hearing in the U.K. the COVID-19 “curve is flattening”, more and more people are saying they are having wilder, and more worrying dreams. A radio presenter told me this week (on air during her show) that she’d had a dream where maggots were on her face. The following day, a journalist called…
